About ICFLookup

A free, independently run lookup of California's public Intermediate Care Facility records.

Who runs it

ICFLookup is an independent website. It isn't run by, affiliated with, or endorsed by the State of California, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) or any regional center.

It's free to use, with nothing to sign up for: no account, no email address, no paywall.

What it covers

Every Intermediate Care Facility in CDPH's current facility listing (971 today): ICF/DD-H, ICF/DD-N, ICF/DD-CN and ICF/DD homes for people with developmental disabilities, and the few plain ICF units. For each: its license and certification details, licensee and administrator, CDPH's state citations and penalties since 1998, every federal survey since 2018 with the findings CMS published, and the changes we've seen in CDPH's monthly listing.

It doesn't cover complaints and facility-reported incidents, state licensing deficiencies or ownership chains, which CDPH publishes only on each facility's CalHealthFind page. Every facility page links there.

Our sister sites cover residential care homes licensed by the Department of Social Services: RCFE.io (RCFEs) and ARFlookup.com (ARFs).

How it's paid for

ICFLookup doesn't sell data, there are currently no ads, and no facility can pay to be listed, ranked, or to change its record.

Corrections and contact

If a facility's record itself is wrong, the correction has to happen at the source: CDPH (each facility page names its CDPH district office). Once CDPH or CMS corrects its record, the change appears here after the next refresh. If our copy doesn't match the agency's record, email [email protected] — see the Contact page.
